Gardening with Arthritis – How To Avoid Pain

Most people would assume that gardening is one of the best activities to take part in if you have arthritis. Now, this is not the case. Whilst it may help to take your mind away from your pain for a small amount of time, it can cause you more pain than good. That is why today, we are going to share with you some ways that you can avoid the pain so you can still enjoy gardening with arthritis.

Use Lightweight Tools
Some gardening tools can be extremely heavy to make them more hardwearing. This can make them more difficult for people with arthritis to use. Using light weight tools will put less strain on your joints, making gardening more enjoyable.

Switch Between Activites
There are lots of things you can do in your garden. The best way to prevent pain is to switch between what you are doing so you are not putting too much pressure on the same joints. Go from preparing the soil to watering plants to change the position, helping ease and prevent joint pain.
